One of the fundamental initiatives and objectives of Full Circle is to create a scientific and historical benchmarking record that can be used as a standard for future references and comparisons. This baseline comprehensive dataset will involve information pertaining to natural disciplines as diverse as ecology, hydrology, socialogy, geography and environmental conservation - all of which can be linked together in a central database using GPS coordinates. While some of the findings will be hosted publically on our website for schools and institutions, other more detailed and technical information may be compiled into GIS databases accessible to researchers and organizations interested in studying specific subjects or areas of Lake Superior.
Ongoing components:
At every contact point with the support team, sampled collected will be exchanged with new kit and material, and the SAG crew will upload the data into their respective databases and repositories. In addition to having our own gallery on this website, we are also looking into uploading the photographs onto Google Maps so that they can be easily accessed and linked to the locations they were taken.
These pages indicate an early stage of planning and may not reflect the exact details accurately yet. They are being revised and elaborated upon in correspondence with our advisors and research partners and will be finalized ahead of the expedition in 2010.
