Meet Paddle to the Sea

Paddle to the Sea and His Adventures Around Lake Superior!

In 1939 a wonderful book called Paddle to the Sea was written by Holling C Holling about an Indian boy who carves an Indian in a canoe and lets it float with the melt waters of Nipigon into Lake Superior, through the Great Lakes, over Niagara Falls and out to the sea.  It is timeless and was made into a short movie by Bill Mason in 1966.

Nipigon is looking to open a Paddle to the Sea amusement area and we are going to take our own hand carved paddle with us for our grandchildren and all other children of the Great Lakes. It will be found in different photos as we travel and we will post them on the Where is Paddle page so you can follow the trip and find paddle. Some days he might be a little hidden.

Have fun and cheer paddle on.
